Project description
The project scope of work involves the investigation and design solutions for the African Development (AfDB) Funded – EFGISP Phase II infrastructure project namely construction of the proposed five Districts Inland Revenue Authority Offices in Mogadishu, Somalia.
The African Development Bank (AfDB) and its implementing partner the Ministry of Finance (FGS) has been awarded Ecotech as the Engineering Consultant to carry out the detail design development, environmental social impact assessment and project management consultant for the proposed District taxation offices within the Mogadishu Districts.
The proposed district taxation office buildings comprise of different kinds of spaces, office areas have separate spaces for one individual or open workspaces to be used by a group. Office space has been sized according to functionality and hierarchy in the organisation.
The organisation of office space focuses on human relationships and communications. Good spatial office design is of great importance in minimising interruptions in workflow and has a strong influence on job satisfaction. These offices have been designed to accommodate the needs of the Director of the taxation, Deputy program manager and other administration-related staff.
There are corporate areas containing meeting/boardrooms, and the adequate room has been allocated for the storage of records. Circulation spaces include corridors, which lead from the buildings’ main entrances to the various public destinations within. Private accesses have been provided for senior officials. Adequate toilet facilities have been provided, which include individual cloakrooms for high-ranking revenue authority officials.
